Common Support Scenarios for School Staff & Other Professionals
- More and more students arrive at school with different medical and psychological diagnoses that are unfamiliar to staff. Not having information on the educational implications of these conditions makes it difficult to provide appropriate educational services. Our extensive experience working in hospitals, schools, and research institutions gives us the background and skill to train and educate your staff on a wide range of conditions. This information enables you to develop regulation-compliant, effective programs.
- As a middle-school principal, many of your teachers report having difficulty dealing with challenging behavior from students. We can provide an all school or small group training followed by shoulder to shoulder training in specific classrooms working with teachers on new skills for analyzing and managing behavior. In addition, we can review your schoolwide policies and programs and give you specific recommendations to better manage and reduce problem behaviors.
- One of your students has a dual diagnosis of ASD and Bipolar Disorder. We can provide case management for this student’s complex needs. This service often includes reviewing results of his assessments, interviewing adults (teachers, parents, therapists), and conducting observations. We then identify appropriate services, providers, and accommodations. We create a communication system to maintain efficient information exchange among all parties. We maintain an ongoing relationship with you and your staff to help you most efficiently provide an appropriate education for this student.
