Targeted Evaluations
Clear Answers for Specific Questions & Next Steps
Targeted evaluations focus on a specific area of concern and are ideal when you are seeking answers to a more focused question. These evaluations are designed to answer specific diagnostic or educational questions without assessing every area of functioning. We take a strengths-based approach, identifying not only areas of challenge but also the skills and abilities that can support growth and success.

Common Reasons Families Seek Targeted Evaluations:
- Questions about attention, focus, or possible ADHD
- Concerns about social communication or possible autism
- Specific academic challenges (e.g., reading, writing, or math)
- Emotional or behavioral concerns (e.g., anxiety, mood, regulation)
- Accommodations (e.g. standardized testing, college housing, classroom supports)
- Need for updated or additional data in one area
- Clarification or confirmation of a previously identified concern
What to Expect
We use focused evaluation methods which may include:
- A brief diagnostic interview with caregivers
- Review of relevant records
- Abbreviated direct testing related to the area of concern
- Cognitive testing when appropriate
- Targeted questionnaires completed by caregivers, teachers, and/or students
- A feedback session to review findings and recommendations
If you are looking for a more comprehensive understanding of your child’s full developmental profile or diagnostic picture, please see our Comprehensive Evaluations Information page.
